Dictionary.com defines gift as a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present.  At This Girl’s Got Gifts, I have many gifts that you can give as presents.  I even have gifts you can give yourself (don’t worry, I won’t’ tell anyone.)  One of the biggest gifts that I can give with my Thirty-One business is the gift of money through my monthly fundraisers.  Each month, I give 10% of my sales to various fundraising efforts.  While I wish the Alexopoulos Family was not living with George’s ALS diagnosis, I am proud to be able to donate to them through my May Giveback.

*Stay up to date with my current Giveback by joining This Girl’s Got Gifts VIP Group on FB.  To be considered for a future Giveback, reach out through my Contact page.

Meet the Alexopoulos Family

Meet my neighbors, the Alexopoulos family. George had been suffering from some heaviness in his arms and legs since November 2019. He tried several doctors, asked for MRI’s, bloodwork, and more and more tests.

With no answers in February of this year, George asked to be referred to U of M. The doctors at U of M did all their own tests on George that resulted in the devastating diagnosis that he has ALS. The family is beside themselves. He is their everything. He is their Dad, loving husband, and provider. With ALS being a debilitating disease, he is no longer able to continue at his job. The medical bills ahead, the modification of their home, 2 kids in college, and another only a few years away, they will need a village behind them.

My customers and I are going to be part of that village this May, and you can join us!  I will be donating 10% of all orders placed at www.ThisGirlsGotGifts.com/shop in May to their family for medical bills, home modifications, and meeting needs that disability cannot cover.  Any orders you place through any party or my “No Party? Shop Here?” party will help to increase the donation. Thank you for allowing me to use my business to give this gift. ❤️

What is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)?

ALS is a disease of the parts of the nervous system that control voluntary muscle movement. In ALS, motor neurons (nerve cells that control muscle cells) are gradually lost. As these motor neurons are lost, the muscles they control become weak and then nonfunctional, thus leading to muscle weakness, disability, and eventually death. ALS is the most common form of motor neuron disease.
